Two days on Santorini: a lot of beautiful impressions! First day, after all the jobs and necessities were done, Akul and me went for a walk. We had made an appointment for the evening
already to have a meditation at the Osho place with Samadhi, a woman we knew from Afroz, Osho Meditation Center on Lesbos.
I want to see the volcano, I told Akul and we went up the mountain on a small road. To the left and the right we could see wine fields, the plants rolled up in order to be protected from the wind and to save moisture, they don’t get water. The small tomatoes that grow on the dry and sandy soil also not. We tasted them, they are very sweet.
After quite a walk we found a beautiful place where we could overlook the caldera, the crater, and we saw the sickle-shaped island. The white villages on top, like snow on the mountains.
On the way back we walked through Megalochori, a beautiful traditional village.
Samadhi came to the boat and drove us to the Center. And it was in the same village!
We knew about Dayadahn, the man that had transformed a rundown village on Santorini and had also made an Osho Center there. Now we realized that we were in that village and in that Osho Center, created in the vault of a wine-cellar.
We met Dayadahn after the meditation and he told us about his new project, an Osho Center plus community in a deserted valley on Santorini. We made an appointment for the next day to go there.
The evening continued in the Taverna above our harbour. Samadhi knew that the food there is the best. And it was.
Today Samadhi and her husband Siddha and daughter came to the boat and after they had seen enough they took us to their house in Emporio. There she showed us her angel-paintings. She paints icons for churches too.
They also have a room in the so called castle, which was actually a fortified village against pirates. Most of the houses are renovated, round ceiling, small windows, a bed on the loft and a kitchen underneath.
Then a walk to the valley of Dayadahn.
